Finally in Egypt and Finally connected

We have arrived in the "Crib of Life", that's what Barbara calls it.  Our flight arrive a little after 1:00 am Tuesday, September 14th.  The hotel driver was no where to be found; I called they said take a taxi or limo about $25.00.  For those of you who have travel to these third world countries, you know what a taxi/limo is; someone's private car. We arrived to the hotel safely, but the car had to go through strict security checks before being allowed in the hotel driveway, that ought to tell you the environment we are in in case you were wondering.  Pray for us. Because of the time we arrived our room was not available because according to "hotel rules" at least Cairo "hotel rules" it was still Monday, September 13th even though it was after midnight at approximately 3:30 am Tuesday, Septemember 14th, where I come from that would be Tuesday not Monday, but as they say, when in Cairo do as the Egyptians!  Check in is not until 2:00 pm but they will get us a room ASAP.  So we plopped ourselves on the comfy hotel lobby sofa; Dom fell asleep and I decided to update my blog....  Well 15 hours later I finally get a connection after being on the phone with countless (useless) AT&T reps.
We are in our room and have been for about 10 hours; Dom is still asleep, I took a few hours nap.  He has been saying for weeks that he wasn't excited, but he really didn't sleep on any of our long flight; I think it was because he was "excited" but he blames it on the person behind him...such a Manly Man.
A little while ago I heard the "Call to Prayer", how impressive.
We got dressed and went in search of dinner.  Here are photos of our first night in Egypt.
We made it!

Our hotel, sorry for the blur

Our first night in Cairo we just had to have an authentic Egyptian dinner; um um good.
